Bengie Molina and Troy Glaus are back in Anaheim for the first time since they left the team. These great former Angels were not offered deals by the team. I would have to imagine that the Angels regret their decision to not offer them deals.
My friend Tom Duino pointed out that the Angels Web site incorrectly lists Bengie Molina as the catcher that made a fantastic block at the game tonight. It was his brother Jose but I am sure the Angels wouldn’t mind Bengie back behind the plate. His bat is desperately missed in the lineup. Below is the image and caption from the Angels Web site. Look at the caption right below the photo in gray text.
To my Mom and to all of the mothers out there.
The Ducks won in overtime tonight in Colorado on Joffrey Lupul’s 4 goal game! What a feat to give the Ducks a 3-0 series advantage.
I went to the Friday and Sunday games in Anaheim with my friend Phil. At the Sunday game we got hooked up with a suite by his uncle Wally. Check out the camera phone pic from the suite.
I’ve got my Ducks section of my game room going for the playoffs.
I went to see Depeche Mode in Las Vegas at the Hard Rock Hotel. They were playing the Theatre Under the Stars, basically a stage setup in the parking lot of the hotel. I requested a room with a concert view and we watched the show from the comforts of the room. When the band left the stage, Dave Gahan flashed the girls in our room. Check out the images below.
Well I went to my first loss of the year on Tuesday. I was in such a rush that I didn’t wear my Anaheim jersey. An uneventful night but there was a funny sign on display in the Hooters restaurant at Angels Stadium.
It seems as though time just flies by. Easter 2006 has already passed. It was a nice day but we heard some bad news as well. My great uncle Tape passed away yesterday. He was my Dad’s father’s brother. He was a really great guy and will be missed.
We spent the day at home and also paid a visit to my sister. Below is a photo of the entire family. I really feel like a sitcom Dad when I setup the camera on the tripod and set the timer on the camera so we can all get in the pic. I love it though! See the pic below:
I attended the home opener on Friday and the Saturday game as well. The Angels won both games and we shut down the vocal Yankee fans.
I tailgated before the game on Saturday with my friends Jeff, Aaron, and Mike. We grilled carne asada and indulged in some beverages. We had a special guest stop by our tailgate, former Angel Bobby Grich obliged us with some photos and even let me hold his World Series ring. Here is a pic of all of us with Bobby.
Tonight I attended the USA – Mexico World Baseball Classic game. I had a great time even though the U.S. lost. I got an autograph on a baseball from Tom Cruise. See the photo of me behind Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes below. Also the ball that he signed.
I’ve got my third quote published. I’ve had one a month so far this year. Today’s quote “It’s nice having the World Baseball Classic in Anaheim. Now I can go root for a baseball team with a name I can identify with.” – Rob Rohm, Orange CA
Today Kirby Puckett passed away, a day after suffering a stroke at the age of 45.
I never met him but an autograph I pulled out of a pack of Leaf Signature series cards in 1996 has adorned my game room throughout the years. Pulling that card was a thrill for me.
Kirby’s career was cut short but he still made the Hall of Fame. The card was a short print and one of the more valuable cards in the set.
See the card as it still hangs in my game room.
